IDEAL Salutes the Contex/VIDAR Merger!
July 2, 2002 - The two leading scanner manufacturers Contex and VIDAR have merged. With this merger, combined revenues for 2002 will exceed US$ 50 million, making the new company the world's fastest growing scanner technology supplier.

IDEAL has been a Contex partner since 1988 when IDEAL opened the USA scanner market. Contex named IDEAL "Distributor of the Year" in 2002, retaining the title IDEAL received in 2001, 2000, 1999, 1998, 1994 and 1993. Today, IDEAL scanning solutions interface to over 4500 Contex scanners. These solutions include:
  • IDEAL Scanner Operating Software, which supports all SCSI, USB and Firewire scanners
  • Large Format document Conferencing on Demand
  • IDEAL PLOT and Print Solutions
  • Large Format Scan to Web Intranets and Extranets
