IDEAL Announces Product Compatibility
with HP Designjet 4200

June 25, 2003, Rockville, MD -Today, IDEAL.com announces that RasterID, automatic
indexing software, and WiseImage, raster editing software, are compatible with the
HP Designjet 4200 scanner. IDEAL is the exclusive North American distributor for
RasterID and WiseImage that are developed by Consistent Software. Use RasterID to
automatically extract title block information, from drawings scanned with the HP
Designjet 4200 Scanner, to an archiving database such as Access. The drawings
scanned with the HP Designjet 4200 can then be edited with WiseImage software that
treats raster objects like vector objects. These software products are targeted to
the AEC, CAD, Manufacturing, GIS, and Reprographics industries.
RasterID and WiseImage not only work with the IDEAL/Contex large format scanners,
but these software packages are compatible with the HP Designjet 4200 Scanner to help
the AEC community scan, index, and edit large format drawings quickly and easily,"

RasterID Title Block Extraction
|
RasterID automatically extracts title block information from scanned drawings
to an archiving database such as Access. The archiving data can also be pulled
into Excel or saved as raw text (comma delimited). Scanned drawings are indexed by
information contained in the drawing's title block. For instance, a drawing can
be indexed by project, designer, date of drawing, etc. In addition, the user can
customize or define the fields based on specific requirements. Since indexing is
automatic, the user only needs to view and check the results for quality control
purposes. RasterID supports the HP Designjet 4200 and all the IDEAL/Contex large
format scanners.

WiseImage Treats Raster Like Vector
|
WiseImage has a Raster Object Selection Feature that treats raster and vector
objects the same way. The Raster Object Selection enables the user to select
raster lines, arcs, and circles using tools similar to those for vector selection.
This feature allows the user to modify the properties of a raster object in a similar
way to modifying properties of vector objects.
In addition, WiseImage enables the conversion of scanned drawings to CAD files one
by one or in a batch mode, even overnight. This conversion feature allows precise
tuning to achieve the most accurate vector representation of the source files. The
original line styles, widths, text height and hatch styles are preserved. The result
of the vectorization consists of lines, polylines, arcs, circles, text and shapes (blocks).
WiseImage has a built-in OCR feature that recognizes text strings at any angle on a drawing.

Document Management Tool

Both, RasterID and WiseImage, are compatible with IDEAL's Online PlanRoom, a secure,
online document ordering and management system for the AEC, Reprographic, Manufacturing
and GIS markets. Quickly search, view and print scanned drawings and CAD files from
anywhere and anytime using a standard web browser with no plug-in or download. Locate
files by folder search and quickly find drawings by discipline within a project set; or
locate files by database search and key field indexed fields such as drawing number,
project name, or other fields you have established. IDEAL's Online PlanRoom is a
real-time online repository that allows you to upload drawings and new revisions.
