Scanning, Indexing and Archiving Software Enables Easy Conversion from Paper to Digital

February 18, 2004, Orlando, FL - Today, at the A/E/C Systems Show in Orlando Florida,
IDEAL announces new releases of two old favorites...ScanOS and ScanDEX Pro. ScanOS is a
multi-function scanner operating system that enables users to scan, store, and index
images with a single field for easy retrieval. ScanOS also supports direct printing to
Windows compatible devices. Both ScanOS and ScanDEX Pro offer color and black and white image
support and support all IDEAL/Contex Large Format Scanners including FireWire and USB as
well as any TWAIN or ISIS scanners.
ScanDEX Pro has all the functionality of ScanOS, plus multi-field indexing on an unlimited
number of fields and additional indexing features, such as:
- the ability to automatically load images to be indexed;
- automatically zoom to areas on the image for each index field;
- use of default values and macros, and more.
ScanDEX Pro supports multiple scanners on a single workstation to speed up the archiving
process. Multi-page tiff support is also part of this customer-favored software.
Email image support enables ScanDEX Pro to receive Emailed images directly into the pending
files folder with the option of automatically indexing and archiving the image. Users can
choose to be notified when a new record has been inserted in the archive. The email notification
contains a link to the record.
In addition, ScanDEX Pro enables easy scanning and archiving into IDEAL Online PlanRooms and IDEAL's
IntraNETIX Web-enabled Document Management Software.
