Rockville, Maryland, May 2, 2005 - Today, IDEAL unveils its enhanced scanner operating software and adds a new 36" monochrome scanner to its product line. The new major feature of IDEAL ScanOS, IDEAL's powerful scanner operating software, is that it allows users to write and read PDF file formats. IDEAL ScanOS lets users create an automatic searchable database for their scanned images. Users can customize the indexing to fit their needs. With the full screen pre-scan and on the fly settings, users can scan quickly and easily. There is no need to save and rescan the file. In addition, IDEAL ScanOS has improved printing functionality for scan-to-print devices such as the HP 4000 and other similar inkjets. There is a print tracking database for accounting purposes. With IDEAL ScanOS users can scan-to-file and scan-to-print simultaneously. IDEAL ScanOS supports IDEAL / Contex Scanners starting with fourth generation scanners, FireWire and USB, as well as any TWAIN Scanners.

IDEAL / Contex Hawk-Eye Mx 36" scanner

The new IDEAL / Contex Hawk-Eye Mx 36" monochrome scanner added to IDEAL's product line is offered at a competitive price point with maximum scanning speed. With the Hawk-Eye Mx 36" monochrome scanner users can scan images at 10.0 IPS in 400 dpi turbo mode. Users can scan and index the images to a searchable database with IDEAL ScanOS. The IDEAL / Contex Hawk-Eye Mx 36" Scanner uses Accuracy Lens Enhancement (ALE) that electronically maintains 0.1% +/- 1 pixel precision across any two points of the scan line thus exceeding even the most rigid requirements. With this scanner there is a very high grade of precision stability in the scanned image.

The IDEAL / Contex Hawk-Eye Mx 36" monochrome scanner offers flexible connectivity supporting both FireWire and USB2. The new sleek design allows simplified replacement of scanner consumables such as providing easier access to scanner lamps. The Hawk-Eye Mx 36" scanner supports 16 bit greytone scanning and handles media up to .47" thick. The resolution of this new scanner ranges from 200 dpi to 9600 dpi.
