IDEAL Announces New Large Format Productivity Suite |
|

Rockville, MD , September 8, 2005 - In response to customer requests,
IDEAL has developed a new suite of software products designed to offer
efficient electronic handling of large format drawings. The new Large
Format Productivity Suite consists of IDEAL ScanOS, Version 3.0, the
all new IDEAL PrintOS and the all new IDEAL Archive Center in two versions
- one designed specifically for Workgroups, and another with broader
functionality for the entire Enterprise. Archive Center is advanced
software built on proven ScanDEX and IntraNETIX technology.
Each component of the suite addresses one or more necessary functions
when working with large format drawings, and has the added benefit of
cost savings when three components are purchased at once; or, purchase
the components individually and add components as needed. In addition,
the suite allows for easy upgrade from Archive Center for Workgroups to
Archive Center for Enterprise. Whether purchased individually, or as a
package, the Large Format Productivity Suite is designed to provide
seamless integration between the components.

IDEAL ScanOS Version 3.0
|
The scanning workhorse of this software suite is the latest version of
IDEAL's tried and true. New features in ScanOS 3.0 include PDF Writing
and reading, plus PDF multi-page file creation and support - no need to
open Adobe to create PDFs. As in previous versions, ScanOS 3.0 is
feature-rich and easy-to-use. This scanning software is versatile,
saves time, increases productivity and accountability, and is fully scalable.
With its simple interface, user friendly icons and customizable dock-enabled
toolbars, users can install and start scanning right away. With batch scanning,
automatic file name generation, full screen pre-scan and on-the-fly settings
users save time and money on scanning projects. Scan-to-file and scan-to-print
simultaneously for additional time savings. Records print history for better
accounting.

New IDEAL PrintOS
|
Just as ScanOS is the scanning workhorse of the Large Format Productivity Suite,
PrintOS is the printing workhorse. This browser-based production print module
for color and monochrome offers direct print support for Oce, Kip, Xerox, PLP,
Repro Desk, Ricoh, Kocera-Mita, HP, Kodak's Encad and more. PrintOS provides
print management for all drawings, images, documents and plot files as well as
easy access to documents in shared folders over the network. One of the biggest
advantages of this pure, dynamic HTML web-based print management system is that
the client software is the web browser, so the IT department does not need to
install PrintOS on every workstation, thus reducing implementation time and cost.

IDEAL Archive Center For Workgroups
|
Archive Center for Workgroups is advanced software built on proven ScanDEX
technology. This browser-based scanning, indexing, archiving and distribution
system image-enables up to 10 members of a Workgroup with the ability to
electronically find, view and print large format documents. Archive Center for
Workgroups provides quick ROI. It can be installed, functional and connected
to large format data in less than a day. With Archive Center for Workgroups
users can scan images, store and index them in a database with an unlimited
number of fields for easy retrieval. Images are stored as files in sub-directories
named by index field values, i.e. project numbers. Various indexing features are
included: Automatically loads images to be indexed, automatically zooms to area on
image for each field, use of default values and macros, etc. Archive Center for
Workgroups supports multiple scanners on a single workstation to speed up the
archiving process. Multi-page management is also supported.

IDEAL Archive Center For Enterprise
|
Archive Center for Enterprise is advanced software built on proven IntraNETIX technology.
This web-based document storage, retrieval and distribution solution supports all kinds
of large format documents, both color and black and white. Archive Center for Enterprise
is a powerful search, view and print tool that empowers every authorized person in the
organization with the ability to find, view and print any document they need at any time
and any place. It easily handles vast numbers of complex design drawings and gigabyte
file sizes, offering immediate view with no download. Because it's browser-based there
are no clients or plug-ins to install and it can be used on any platform. The built in
viewer allows window panning and zooming. It supports both centralized and remote printing
with a "shopping cart" function for batch printing. Deliver document sets in PDF, DWF,
CGM or TIFF. Archive Center for Enterprise can run on any database that is already in
place in the enterprise - Oracle, SQL, ACCESS or ODBC and can support an unlimited number
of databases running on multiple servers.
