Project Background and Objectives
En-Ser Reprographics is a mid-sized reprographics shop that offers scanning and printing services and sells media, copiers, plotters and surveying equipment.
En-Ser wanted to expand its customer offerings to include online services and e-commerce. Online services and e-commerce would enable En-Ser to provide additional scanning services because customers would need their bid sets or color graphics scanned for inclusion and sale on line. Contractors and other customers could then view the bid sets and other graphics online. As a result of this increased online exposure, En-Ser's printing services would increase when those customers placed e-commerce orders for prints of what they had viewed.
In addition, En-Ser wanted to offer all of it's products, including media, copiers, plotters and surveying equipment, for sale online as a complement to the online plan room. En-Ser envisioned a one-stop online shop for its customers.
En-Ser required updated scanning, indexing, editing and printing solutions, as well as online services and e-commerce capability. Considerations included (1) ease of use; (2) reliability of products, (3) availability of service and support; (4) simple administration procedures; (5) document control; and, (6) ROI. After researching products, En-Ser chose IDEAL's aperture card and color scanners with indexing and editing software solutions, as well as IDEAL's online plan room and e-commerce solutions.
Contract Work, Scope, and Deliverables
IDEAL delivered IDEAL/Contex scanners and scanning operating system, along with IDEAL indexing and raster editing software and provided telephone support and training for these products. IDEAL customized, delivered, and installed Plan Room Plus and E-Front Counter, including custom graphics and integration with the En-Ser Reprographics web site. In addition, IDEAL provided training on the use and administration of the online system.
