Entire Imaging Solutions Inc., an IDEAL reprographics customer located in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, recently made a BIG impression on one of their clients with a 3D model that they printed on an IDEAL/Contex DESIGNmate 3D printer. The finished model was the massive size of 39" x 36" x 20".

The model was produced digitally by Entire Imaging Solutions from 2D elevations and floor plans. They printed the model in 30 separate pieces and glued the pieces together in groups of 10, to make three large sections. The sections were transported to the client's site for final assembly and positioning on the "landscaped" base. The entire project took four weeks from start to finish. The same size model, produced by traditional modeling methods would have taken as long as three months and thousands of dollars to produce. What is equally impressive is that Entire had their DESIGNmate printer for less than six months when they undertook this huge project.

Andy Chiodo, President of Entire Imaging Solutions, said, "We provided the client with an initial print to the maximum size of the machine (10 in x 14 in x 8 in). The customer liked what they saw, but they needed the model to be to scale. When we projected the number of pieces required to complete this model to scale, I had some reservations about taking on a project of this magnitude. Our client needed a commitment that we would deliver the project on time. We decided to move forward with the project and gave the client our word that we would deliver on time. With the support and dedication of our team at Entire, the project was a huge success.
