Technologies Sign Distribution Agreement for PlanTracer &
WiseImage Software |

IDEAL.com has partnered with ENGINEERING.com
Incorporated and IMAGINiT Technologies to
distribute PlanTracer and WiseImage
Software.
PlanTracer software converts
raster floor plans or 2D AutoCADâ (from Autodesk, Inc.)
floor plans into intelligent 3D ADT objects
automatically and/or semi-automatically.
WiseImage software brings scanned drawings
directly into AutoCAD and provides raster cleanup,
CAD-style raster editing and raster-to-vector conversion
of lines, arcs, circles, text, hatch, line styles and
symbols.

| Service Bureau News: How One Company Saved Time and Money
|
|
What does a large
engineering services provider do when they have rooms of
paper drawings that need to be incorporated into a new
CAD system? One solution would be to hire a dozen CAD
draftsmen to redraw all the paper information in CAD,
but this could be costly as well as time consuming.
Not long ago, Johnson Controls found themselves
faced with this dilemma, and they turned to IDEAL's
Service Bureau for help. IDEAL scanned the paper
drawings and converted the scanned raster files to an
editable CAD file format. Because the staff at IDEAL are
scanning experts with Raster to Vector and CAD
experience, there was no need for ramp-up training, so
IDEAL was able to deliver the job quickly and
efficiently. Johnson Controls was able to integrate the
converted files into either MicroStation or AutoCAD, the
two industry standards in the CAD Marketplace. Johnson
Controls saved both time and money.
