Contex "Green" Scanners Help Protect the Environment with Superior Energy Efficiency

announces the addition of two new energy efficient scanners, manufactured
by Contex, to its product line. These new "green" scanners
are certified "Energy Star Compliant" by the U.S
Environmental Protection Agency. The IDEAL / Contex green scanners
include the Crystal HS 42 and the Chroma HS 42.

2000 File Format Added to WIDEimageNET and JETimageNET Scanning Software
|

IDEAL /
Contex WIDEimageNET and JETimageNET scanning software both now include
the JPEG 2000 file format as one of the many file formats that a user
can save their scanned drawing to. This addition has been made in
response to customer requests for this critical file format. It is
expected that JPEG200 will become the new industry standard for saving
scanned files within the wide format industry for GIS, CAD and
Photography.

Scanner Glass Clean & Minimize Scratching
|

Do you find your scanner glass getting dirty quickly?
Scratching? Are you seeing streaks in the images? Try the following...
In addition to
keeping your work area clean and your documents wiped down or blown off
prior to scanning, apply the product X (US Auto Wax Product) to the
glass surface per the instructions on the bottle. The application
reduces the amount of friction on the glass surface, thus reducing the
amount of dirt that sticks to it, creating a streak free environment.
An extra added bonus is reduced wear on the glass, helping to minimize
scratches.
