IDEALScanOS is an easy-to-use scanner interface tool. With IDEALScanOS you can prescan, scan, copy and archive your images. IDEALScanOS supports all SCSI-based Ideal scanners, the Xerox 8825/8830 printers and the Océ 9400 printer. Other plotters/printers are supported via the Windows driver and other scanners are supported through Twain and Isis drivers. The archive is an MS Access database.
One of the unique features in IDEALScanOS is that when you scan to a file, you actually scan to a database enabling easy retrieval of your scanned images. Another unique thing is that when you scan to print or just print, the print information is stored in a printer archive enabling you to make accounts/statistics of your prints. In other words IDEALScanOS keeps track of your scanned images and your prints minimizing your work.
When starting the program the IDEALScanOS main window will appear. In this you will find four large buttons signifying four different stations of IDEALScanOS:
v Prescan
v Scan
v Copy
v Archive
¨ In the prescan station you control the scan while adjusting scanner parameters in order to achieve the best scanning result.
¨ In the scan station you save the scan to file and scanner archive.
¨ In the copy station you print out the scan directly without saving it to file. At the same time the print information is saved to the printer archive. The prescan-, scan- and copy station displays the image on the fly during scanning.
¨ In the archive station you can view, search, print, mail etc. the scanner- and printer archive.
Each station has customizable toolbars allowing you to design your own user-interface meeting your specific needs.
You enter a station by clicking on the station button. However before you do this and before you start scanning, please have a look at the menu Preferences where you can set up your preferences for viewing, scanning and printing.
