Requirements for Scanning Computers
IDEAL recommends Dell computers due to the fact that Dell computers seem to have fewer SCSI compatibility issues. However, IDEAL cannot guarantee the compatibility of any computer with Adaptec's SCSI interface
- Scanning computers should have a free PCI slot for a SCSI or Firewire card, and a USB port
(for Cougar and Chameleon only).
- Please note that Windows NT DOES NOT support USB and Firewire.
- The computer CANNOT be a Server
- The computer CANNOT be a Mac

Note:
Not all computers will accept a SCSI card. We have many cases of computers rejecting the SCSI card. If all else fails, try installing the scanner on a different computer.
