Search and
Replace
Brief description:
This section demonstrates the Search and Replace
operation which allow you to:
Find raster image fragments and replace them with other raster image fragments
or vector objects.
Find vector objects (which can consist of lines, arcs, circles, and polylines)
and replace them with other vector objects.
How
to perform search and replace:
Choose Search
- Replace from the rEdit menu.

Define a
sample for searching (raster or vector fragment), and place it in the
Find What field of the Search - Replace dialog.
Define a replacement sample.
You can use
either raster data or vector objects as samples. You can use as a sample
sets of AutoCAD lines, arcs, circles, and polylines. Specify a base
point of the selected raster or vector objects by picking it on the
screen or by pressing ENTER. (In the latter case the center of bounding
rectangle is assumed to be the base point.) When replacing, the base point
of the replacement object is matched to the base point of the found object.
- Set the
accuracy value. The position of the Accuracy slider defines
the deviation of found objects from the search sample.
- Select
the Erase checkbox to erase found objects.
- Select
the Only Standalone Symbols checkbox to search for only
standalone raster objects or vector symbols.
Press the
Find button to search and replace symbols one by one. The
Search and Replace toolbar is displayed.

Using
these buttons you can control the search process and modify the position,
scale, and rotation angle of the replacing object. |
