Editing and selecting commands

Undo/Redo

Menu: Edit > Undo/Redo

Toolbar: Main

Description: You can undo and redo all operations that modify an image multiple times. WiseImage distinguishes the limits of operations and their steps. For example, during tracing you can undo or redo tracing steps and segments; then you can redo the result of the whole tracing session.
You are only limited by your computer capabilities, memory size and also your imagination and persistence.

Cut/Copy/Delete

Menu: Edit > Cut/Copy/Delete

Toolbar: Edit

Description: Standard Windows functions.

Paste

Menu: Edit > Paste

Toolbar: Edit

Description: Used to paste a copied selection set. This command preserves internal information of raster fragments' source and every raster component of the selection set is pasted onto the image where it came from.
If the image from which a fragment had been copied was removed and then the Paste command was performed, this fragment is converted to a separate embedded image that is placed on the active layer.

Paste Separate

Menu: Edit > Paste Separate

Toolbar: Edit

Description: Used to paste a copied selection set containing raster fragments. Paste Separate does not care about fragments' sources. It creates separate embedded images for every raster selection fragment and puts them on the active layer. You can perform this command when you need to create new images from a selection quickly.

Paste Special

Menu: Edit > Paste Special

Toolbar: Edit

Description: Used to paste a copied selection set containing raster fragments. This command is useful when you need to cut or copy a fragment from one image and merge it with another.

Paste Special preserves internal information of raster fragments' source and merges a temporary image that unites all raster fragments of selection set with the image that is chosen from box (if there is only one image to paste selection to, Select Image dialog does not show).

Search and Replace

Menu: Edit > Search and Replace

Toolbar: Edit

Description: The search and replace operation can find objects and replace them with any other vector or raster item. The operation can be applied to sets of vector objects.
The search and replace operation is performed using the following dialog box.

Before starting the operation you need to place a raster selection or vector data in the Find What box - to define a sample for searching - and setup searching parameters. If you intend to replace found objects, you should also place the replacing vector or raster selection in the Replace With box.
Raster selections can be replaced with raster or vector samples. Vector selections can only be replaced with vector samples.
The command also allows you to find sets of vector objects, which in combination look like a specified vector sample. You can use as a sample sets of lines, arcs, circles, and polylines. Vector objects to be found by the command shall be composed of line segments, arcs, and circles only.

Procedure is accompanied by Search and Replace toolbar and information string in status bar.
